The Synagogue – Contemporary Art Centre

Another of the concert venues of “Trnava Music Spring” is the Synagogue (contemporary art centre), which functions since 1994 as one of the exhibition venues of the Ján Koniarek Gallery.

The construction of this sacred space with oriental elements started in 1891 but served the Jewish community in Trnava only until the beginning of the World War II. After the war, the building was used as a warehouse and after partial reconstruction between 1993-94 by the Ján Koniarek Gallery, exhibitions, projects and concerts started to take place there.
